Cookie policy
Which trackers are used, why, for how long, and how to opt out.
This page describes the cookies and other trackers used on demo.idee-web.eu, a demonstration website published by LFL Paris (trade name IDEE-WEB). No advertising cookie or retargeting tool is deployed. This website only uses strictly necessary trackers and an audience measurement tool exempt from consent under the CNIL (French data protection authority) criteria.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file stored on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit a website. It allows your browser to be recognised for a set period. Other trackers (browser local storage, pixels) work on the same principle.
Trackers used
- Website operation (strictly necessary): remembering your audience measurement choice (local storage, key iw-consent), anti-bot protection of forms, Directus administration session for test accounts. These trackers do not require consent.
- Preferences: remembering the chosen language, handled through the page address (no dedicated cookie).
- Audience measurement: Umami, an analytics tool self-hosted on Idee-Web's infrastructure in France. Umami works without cookies and does not create any personal identifier; the statistics produced (pages viewed, traffic source, country, device type) are anonymous and aggregated.
Consent-exempt audience measurement
Under article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the CNIL guidelines, a tracker strictly limited to audience measurement may be used without prior consent when it produces anonymous statistics, does not allow browsing to be tracked across different websites and is not shared with third parties. This website's Umami instance meets these criteria: limited purpose, no retargeting, no sharing, data hosted in France, tracker lifetime limited to 13 months and statistics kept for a maximum of 25 months.
Opting out of audience measurement
On your first visit, a notice at the bottom of the page informs you about this measurement. You may opt out at any time:
- by clicking "Opt out of measurement" in the notice;
- by reopening the notice through the "Manage audience measurement" link in the footer.
Your opt-out is stored locally in your browser and the measurement script is no longer loaded. If you clear your browser data, the notice will be shown again.
Configuring your browser
You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies and local storage (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge: Privacy menu). Blocking strictly necessary trackers may prevent forms from being sent or logging in to the demonstration administration.
Third-party cookies
No third-party cookie (Google, Meta, advertising networks, partners) is set by this website. Should embedded content (video, map) set any, it would only be loaded after your explicit action.
